People in UK celebrate this holiday in January. They have parties where guests dress up in costumes and cover their faces with masks. Next day people visit friends, relatives.

It is a holiday for children in UK. Children dressed in costumes knock on their neighbours’ doors and ask: “Do you want “trick” or “treat?”. Give them “a treat”, (money, or sweets). They go away.

People celebrate this holiday in March in Kazakhstan. People have “kozhe”, “baursak”, drink “kymys” and “shubat”. Over 100 nationalities celebrate this holiday.

People in many countries decorate Christmas trees and give each other presents. Children leave a long sock or stocking at the end of the bed on December 24. They think that Santa Claus usually come down the chimney during the night and brings them presents. The special food is a big turkey and Christmas pudding.

i have the internet at home and enjoy looking for useful information for me.

internet is very useful, because it is a huge base of data and knowledge, where you can find any thing you want from movies and music of interest to the vast number of books, newspapers and magazines.

internet helps to learn lots (или a lot). (можнопо-другому:   internet helps studying.)

to find more information, download the required essay, watch video about some books which you have already read, everything can be done through the internet.

email is one of the advantages of the internet.

this online service is cheaper than regular mail, and it works much faster.

  you never lose touch with loved ones, wherever they are using such mean of communication.

i have a personal e-mail and have an opportunity to chat with my friends from other cities and countries.

nowadays there are very different popular social networks where communication with your friends and relatives also is not difficult.

today there are many different internet - competitions for different subjects which give students the opportunity to participate even in international competitions.

on the other hand i think that the internet   becomes a way of a person life and it is very harmful for our health. many teenagers spend a long of time sitting at the   computers and spoiling themselves eyes. i don't mean that i am against the internet, but it should have   reasonable limits.

в настоящее время существует разных популярных социальных сетей, где связаться с друзьями и родственниками также не сложно.сегодня существует много различных соревнований и конкурсов в интернете   по различным предметам, которые студентам возможность принять участие даже в международных конкурсах.

с другой стороны, я думаю, что интернет становится образом жизни человека, и это вредно для нашего здоровья. многие подростки проводят много времени, сидя за компьютерами и портят зрение. я не хочу сказать, что я против интернета, но его использование должно иметь разумные пределы.

man just can't help fiddling round with even the most basic technologies in order to make them better. as soon as something new is created, people, particularly scientists, inventors make efforts to make the life of humankind much more comfortable. automats, robots and complex machines were and still are created just to automatize technical processes, devices are constructed for domestic needs. there is some joke, or so-called people belief, that signs all the inventions that have already carried out by present and take place just because of man's laziness. i mean, they happen on earth because people want to make as less moves by hands and feet as possible. for example, men didn't want to jump and run every time to change tv channel, so they invented a remote-control station.

i always thought babies were born as blank slates and the parents molded and taught them gender roles, etc.  i had two boys. we didn't allow guns in the house. we didn't talk about them, just basically ignored their existence. the first time the oldest got some lego blocks, he built a gun! we had plenty of toys and dolls etc, and he always went for the cars and traditionally "male" toys. we didn't encourage it, he wasn't in childcare, he was just "like that."my best friend had two girls, the same ages. the wanted to do the girly things when they came over.  we moved away and had two girls. meanwhile my friend had some boys. she later called and apologized for all the things she had said about my parenting. i was amazed at how different and easier girls were.  i have always been a women's libbist, and have a degree in chemistry. but i had to admit i was wrong about the blank slate idea.  my second son did have a period when his sister was born when he was inseparable from his baby doll, that he dragged around by the leg.he refused to put clothes on it, so i had to crochet a little dress directly onto the doll because i didn't like her being naked all the time.  and my older daughter insisted on climbing trees and couldn't stand dolls. she is like me, not a girly girl at all. but the older one now has a degree in linguistics and is choosing to stay at home and raise children while her husband works. they hope to get a big horsefarm someday and work together doing tourist rides in alaska.despite my women's libbist tendencies, i have loved being a mom and my kids are wonderful, so i must have done something right. my brother-in-law stayed home with the kids while my sister worked, and that worked for them.  the bottom line is that boys and girls are overall wired differently, but there is some overlap. there will always be traditionally female and male roles, but also with some overlap. the one thing we can do to really screw up society is to have quotas. the best thing to do is to encourage each person to follow their heart.
