Simple.

1. Mark (park) _ his jeep under a No Parking sign and (go) _
into the shop with his girlfriend. When they (come back) _ 15
minutes later, they (notice) _ that the car (be) _ no longer
there. Mark (be) _ sure that somebody (steal) _ it but his
girlfriend (say) _ that maybe the police (drive) _ it away.
2. Yesterday I (ask) _ Mary to go to the cinema with me. She (tell)
_ me that she (see) _ that film before. However, when I
(ask) _ her if she (enjoy) _ it, she (make) _ a few
vague remarks and (say) _ that she (have to) _ go home.
Then I (start) _ wondering if she (see) _ that film at all.
3. Yesterday I (miss) _ my train again. I (think) _ it (leave)
_ at 7.30. However, when I (arrive) _ at the station at 7.25,
I (learn) _ that it (just leave) _. I (realize) _ later
that I (use) _ the wrong timetable.
