school life for a british schoolboy

i leave home at 6: 45 and walk 20 minutes to catch a bus to school. the journey
takes an hour because the bus has to keep stopping to pick up other students along
the way. on arriving i collect my tablet pc from the learning centre and go to
my tutor room for registration at 8: 30.
we do our early morning work while our class teacher takes the attendance
register. the attendance of every child is recorded in a special registration book
each morning and afternoon. the teacher reads out each child’s name in turn, a
child replies and the teacher writes down in the book whether the child is in school
or not.
at about 8: 50 we leave our tutor room to go to the assembly hall. in the hall
we listen quietly to the music playing. each week has a different musical theme
and the children are asked to listen out for particular things.
every day i have a different first lesson. normally it is english but i also have
maths, computers, drama and music and french on other days.
every student carries a swipe card. we swipe into every lesson to let the school
know that we have attended that certain lesson and to know where we are when
something happens.
the children can bring a snack from home to eat in the playgrounds. it is usually a
packet of crisps, fruit or a couple of biscuits. we play games on either of our two
playgrounds, adventure playground or in the large playing field.
lunch time is from noon to 1: 10 p. m. some children will have a school dinner
cooked in our school kitchen. in the afternoon the lessons resume with reading
activities. the rest of the afternoon is spent learning one or two of our other school
subjects. afternoon lessons continue until 3: 15 p. m. when we go home

My family isn't large. besides my parents i have an elder sister whose name is irina. she is 19 and she is a student of the institute.  i am masha. i am 13 and i am a student of the secondary school. i am not very tall but i am not short either. i  like  skating and reading. my mother's name is inna vasilievna. she is 39 and she is a nurse in our hospital. my mother is very pretty and kind. my father's name is ivan petrovich. he is 42 and he is a driver in the same hospital. my father is very strong and strict. he  likes to play chess  and we  often  play chess  in the evening. our granny doesn't live with us, but she lives not far from our house so i  often come to see  her on sundays. i visited her  last night  and she  was  glad  to see me. we have supper then i read my favourite book about animals and i  went to bed  about 12 p.m. we are a friendly family and we try to get along with each other and try  to discuss  our problems and to solve them  together.   моя семья небольшая. кроме моих родителей у меня есть старшая сестра, чье имя ирина. ей 19, и она учится в институте. я маша. мне 13 лет,   и я учусь в средней школе. я не высокая, но я не маленькая. я люблю кататься на коньках и читать. мою маму зовут инна васильевна. ей 39 лет, и она работает медсестрой в нашей больнице. моя мама красивая и добрая. моего отца зовут иван петрович. ему   42 года, и он работает водителем в той же больнице. мой отец сильный и строгий. он любит играть в шахматы и мы часто играем с ним в шахматы по вечерам. наша бабушка не живет вместе с нами, но она живет не далеко от нашего дома, поэтому я часто прихожу к ней по воскресеньям. я была у нее прошлой ночью, и она была рада меня видеть. мы поужинали,   потом я читала мою любимую книгу о животных, и я легла спать около 12 часов. мы дружная семья, и мы стараемся ладить друг с другом, мы обсуждаем наши проблемы и стараемся решить их вместе.

An ideal friend

friends are very important in our life.

i can’t say who is an ideal friend really. but i think he must be honest and supportive. an ideal friend is a friend who always tries to understand you and keeps your secrets. a friend mustn’t be very brainy but friends must have similar interests. if you are in trouble an ideal friend will always help you. you can rely on him. he needn’t have money but it is important that he is fun to be with. friends must be loyal and never betray each other.

you are happy if you have an ideal friend.

i have best friends: (имя друга) and (имя друга). i can’t say that they are ideal but i am not ideal too. we often talk our problems through and have a good laugh together.i can trust them and they trust me.

i am lucky to have such friends.
