прежде это поселение носило испанское название херба буэна, что в переводе означает «хорошая трава».

дали это наименование, как уже можно было догадаться, испанцы, прибывшие сюда первыми из европейцев и объявившие эту территорию своей колонией.

в 1776 году испанский миссионер хуан батиста да анза основывает миссию святого франциска азиаского. спустя 45 лет херба буана уже входит в состав мексики, объявившей свою независимость от испании.
